Here’s to a lot of Firsts!

Since this is my first post. I want to explain why I decided to do this. Last year, was a rough year for a lot of people, including myself! There is more than one reason why I’m doing this.

Here is why…

  1. I want to be completely honest with myself and to do that, I write. Which is something I stopped doing for the longest time!
  2. I hope maybe I can help others that may be feeling or going through things that I am.
  3. I have a lot happening this year and I want to remember everything as it happens.

I cant wait to see what this year turns into. So, if you took time out of your life to read this and want to come on a journey with me. I’d be forever grateful.

A little late.

I probably should’ve posted this a couple of days ago. I made a few New Years Resolutions this year.

At first they were the normal ones people always make. Everyone knows how that goes though. They last about a week, maybe two.

I know that you’re supposed to make resolutions before New Years. That’s why it’s called “New Years Resolutions.” There’s this song that I heard once about 2 years ago on the radio. I hadn’t heard it again since but I remember it so clearly. I searched for it until I gave up.

Oddly enough, I was on Instagram one day and Taylor Swift posted this list of songs. So, I thought I’d listen to them.

The song I’m referring to is Alive. For awhile now that’s been the song I go to when I have a bad day.
I feel like a different person when I listen to the song. Not in a weird way, I just get kinda lost in how freeing the song is. Which brings me back to my New Years Resolutions. I went from 6 to 1.

My main goal this year is to be Happy!

I don’t think there should be a difference between happiness and reality. Everyone wants to love their life. The question is why don’t we? Why do we let terrible people make us feel awful? Why be in a one sided friendship/relationship? Why keep a job you hate? Happiness is something to strive towards, because everyone does in their own way.

You may not always have happiness in the moment you’re living in. I just think that when you look back on your year. You don’t want to remember the mistake you made in December or the other one you made in October. You look back on something because it was good, it made you happy.

That’s my goal! What’s yours?
